Hon. Joefly J. Bahroeny has graduated from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and has a Magister Management in Agrobusiness from University of North Sumatra, Medan. In 2021, he participated in training programmes, workshops and seminars, including “Indonesia’s Economic Outlook 2022” on July 29, 2021. Starting his career in 1982, he has served as: President Commissioner of PT. Bahruny (1983-present), PT. BAPCO (1983-present), PT. Bahrun & Sons (1983-present), PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), (2013-2014), PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) Holding (2014-2017)

He is also Commissioner of PT. Sisirau (1991-present), PT. Teumaron (1991-present), PT. Satya Agung (2005-present), PT PP London Sumatra, TBK (2004-2007). Then he also served as: Director of PT. PP. London Sumatra Indonesia, Tbk (2007-present) and Honorary Consul of The Republic of Sri Lanka (2003-present) and President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner of PT Millennium Pharmacon International Tbk (April 2021 – present). He is an active member of several organizations and currently serving as Chairman of the Advisory Board of GAPKI (Indonesian Palm Oil Asociation).

The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, is an island country in South Asia. It lies in the Indian Ocean, southwest of the Bay of Bengal, and southeast of the Arabian Sea. Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte is its legislative capital, and Colombo is its largest city and financial centre. Sri Lanka relies on its economy on agricultural exports. In 1987 this sector contributed 24.2 percent of the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The agricultural sector absorbs almost half of the workforce in the entire country. Other sectors that contribute to GDP are trade, industry, transportation and communications, and construction. In agriculture, the country is known as the second largest tea exporter in the world. In addition, this country is also known as an exporter of rubber, coconut and fiber. Its rubber production reaches 36 percent of world rubber production. As for coconut, this country contributes about 71 percent of the world’s rubber production. Its main industry is graphite. Most of this production is exported to Japan. In addition, the country is currently developing cement, textile, ceramic and leather industries.
