Association of Honorary Consuls to Indonesia
AHCI – Association of Honorary Consuls to Indonesia was established of the necessity to bring together all appointed Honorary Consuls to Indonesia to commonly share experience, and co-ordinate efforts to enhance the status and effectiveness roles of the Honorary Consuls in representing their sending countries in bilateral relations with Indonesia.
AHCI is a member of FICAC (World Federation of Consuls).
Welcome
The purpose of AHCI is to create international awareness by managing relationships with media, Governments and private sectors. In AHCI, we strive to improve and make our communications more effective not only among our members, but also with all of our Stakeholders, including the international communities.
How an institution is viewed and judged by the public, its members, its sponsors, and also by Governments, is surely vital to the institution’s reputation and performance. As we look ahead, we must recognize that the responsibilities of good and effective public communications are becoming increasingly demanding.

An Honorary Consul or an Honorary Consul General is a person entrusted by the sending country to perform representational or consular functions for the state in accordance with the Indonesian Act No. 1 of 1982 which rectified the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and other international agreements, the Law on Diplomatic and Consular Service, and other laws and regulations.
The main task of an Honorary Consul is to promote cultural, economical, educational development between the sending country and the host country which in this case is the Republic of Indonesia.
